The Lions pick up another big win to stay undefeated and in first place in the Lone Star Conference and 14-1 overall.
It was truly a tale of halves. The Lions dominated TSU for the first half, and then the Texans came back and actually outscored the Lions by 2 in the second half, but by that time, the damage was done and the Lions had a commanding lead. Trey Conrod led all scorers with 22 points and was 9/9 from the field. Like I have always said, and my Dad taught me a long time ago, good shooting will always be hard if not impossible to beat. That rang true last night.

Pretty evenly matched from a stats point of view, however free throw shooting was a big advantage for the Lions. They also turned the ball over fewer times than the Texans, and had a few more steals. If you look at the state line, you can see that despite the parity, the Lions won this game for one reason alone: they were better shooters, and that alone was enough to win this game.
Next Up: @ UT-Permian Basin (13-1, 5-0 in LSC). The Lions will take on the defending LSC Champions Texas-Permian Basin Falcons for their next game. This time, they hit the road to travel to Odessa. This will be a HUGE game for LSC standings and national rankings as well, as UTPB knocked off West Texas A&M earlier in the year when they were ranked 8th in the country. This is a big one, and it will see how good this Lion squad really is.
