- Let’s start with this obvious fact. SFA kicked our butts in every way, shape and form. I really dont know what else to say. Its one thing to play hard and lose, its another thing to play sloppy, turn the ball over, Everything I praised us for NOT doing last week, we did this week. We turned the ball over at critical times, made mistakes, couldn’t run an offense, and defense got gashed, special teams was anything but special.
- We have to look forward to next week and get a win. That’s all there is to it, and it needs to be a convincing win. Period.
- The defense was absolutely outcoached. SFA OC Jared May outcoached us and left our guys a mile behind him. The SFA running game just plowed through us. Not the same defense I saw last week.
- If nothing else, we HAVE to stop turning the ball over right before halftime when we have a chance to score. Quarterbacks have to go three step drop and throw. With this offensive line right now, they don’t have the time to settle back.
- Ben Mehan has been a great punter, but that change to rugby style isn’t working. Whoever told him to change it……..yeah thats a big no. Go back to conventional. No reason to get cute.
- I hate losing to SFA because aside from 2024, we have not beaten SFA since 1983. Colby Carthel hasn’t gotten The Jacks as far yet as he got us in the time he was there, but still as much as I love the guy and appreciate what he did for our program and school, I want to beat him and SFA.
- Brew over this on the 4-5 hour bus ride and get to work to beat Northwestern State at home next week.
