Greetings, Lion fans, and this week’s edition of the Notebook needs no extra hype or buildup. If you’re a football fan, these are the kinds of games you live for. #1 against #1. For Clarification, the following article is an opinion piece by the staff of the Lion Wire writers. It is not associated with Texas A&M University-Commerce, Lion Athletics, or anyone associated with the University in any official capacity. This is 100% opinion. What do all great Universities have in common? They have traditions. Great ones. They…
Greetings, Lion fans, and I know in the past the cliche “biggest game of the year” has been thrown around quite a bit, especially by yours truly, but in this case, it’s true. This Saturday is a battle for Southland Conference supremacy. Win, and the Lions could control their own destiny in search of a…
Overall-A win. A sloppy, messy, undisciplined win. But a Win. Lions have now won 4 straight games and are undefeated in Southland Conference play. Mitchell McGarry-Averaged 35 yards per punt, with a career long of 63 yards. His coffin corner kick in the second quarter that pinned HCU inside their…

Greetings, Lions fans, and as the saying in radio goes…”the hits just keep on coming.” After giving up one touchdown after a turnover on a short field, and a 12 play, 87-yard drive, and aided by a well-timed David Bailiff motivational lecture, the Blue Gang defense shut the door. An early 15-7 Lion deficit turned…
Let’s Get To It- Volleyball- Craig Cases’s squad is now OVER .500 in Southland Conference play. After starting the season 3-11, the Lion Volleyball team has gone 6-3 in their past 9 matches and have a 5-4 conference mark heading into a HUGE weekend of Volleyball at University Fieldhouse. However, they have a test tomorrow…
Greetings, Lion fans, and in the days to come following the completion of the 2022 Lion football season, there will be signposts along the way to determine just how things went for A&M-Commerce in their inaugural Southland Conference season. What follows is one of those moments, and it was a good one. 10:27 left, second…
Overall-Let me start by saying this. Whether anyone is a friend, foe, or indifferent to Lion football, know this. We are in first place in the Southland Conference for a reason. We have a Championship quality program with deep tradition. We are known for potent offenses and elite defenses. We have created chaos in the…
