Impact Players-

WR Andrew Armstrong-He has gotten himself on the Watch list for the Walter Payton Award, which is the best player in the FCS. If he has another big game, The Lions will be tough to beat.

QB Eric Rodriguez-If his health and ankle continues to trend upwards, he could have a big night yet again.

Kicker and Punters-The Wind will be strong on The Blackland Prairies, the trio of McGarry, Martin, and Adagbon will be challenged with the strong north wind.

LB Dee Walker-The Senior has played fantastic the entire year and faces a challenge against the HCU offense. How well he leads and continues to lead as a defensive stalwart the best defense in the Southland Conference will determine their performance.

Storylines-

Homecoming 2022. Fifty years ago, the 1972 East Texas State Lions defeated #1 Southwest Texas State (now Texas State University) on Homecoming of 1972 on their way toward the ultimate prize, the national championship. That Lion team will be honored before the game on Saturday, but This Lions team faces off with a Houston Christian team that is having a challenging season, but this is a team that cannot be overlooked. If the Lions focus and keep their eyes on the prize and DO NOT LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT WEEK, this is a game that is very winnable. A 4th straight win would have the Lions take one more step toward winning the Southland Conference in year one and continue to show all of Division I Lion football is still a force to be reckoned with.
