To Start off, PLN extends its deepest condolences to the friends, family, and loved ones of a recent Lion graduate, Britney Stevens. Ms. Stevens passed away at the way too young age of 22 due to an automobile accident in Mississippi. I do not want to get into details, but all I know is that it seems we have had a very bad string of very young Lions who have lost their lives in automobile accidents. I was relatively new to campus but I remember when we had 2 Chi Omega members killed in a tragic accident. Britney was a native of nearby Paris, about 40 miles northeast of Commerce and had graduated from TAMUC after transferring from Paris Junior College. She was in the Honors College, a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, and was a financial analyst for Raytheon in Greenville. We offer our deepest sympathies to her family.
Lion’s Hoops-
Both the Lady Lions and Lions play tonight at the Fieldhouse, taking on old time rival Texas A&M-Kingsville. This will be a telling game for both teams. Will the Men recover from a disappointing setback, and can the Ladies build on their huge win from the previous game? This game has implications for both, and it is against a big rival.
