Football- 5 Lions were named to the inaugural Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Small College All-State team, which places the best in Texas that are non-FBS players. Track/Field-The…
First, I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and will have a great 2019 upcoming. We took a holiday break here at the wire to spend time with friends and family, but a lot of news is still coming out of Commerce, America. Focusing on Basketball, and once again, our Men’s team is out…
A few final pieces of post season accolades, so let’s get to it. The Final AFCA polls have come out, and for the 3rd straight season, Texas A&M-Commerce finishes the season ranked in the top ten to end the year. The Lions ranked 9th in the country, and one would think it was two convincing…
Having attended the presser at McKinney ISD stadium and watched the live streaming from the Rayburn Memorial Student Center, I have a lot of thoughts on this, but I will keep it to 5, so here we go. He is pumped-From the second I arrived at the MISD stadium conference room, Bailiff was smiling from…
Football: Congrats to Lion Senior Kristov Martinez, who was named to the AFCA First Team All-American team. A word to NFL scouts: You need to look at this kid. Kicking on this level is not ANY different than kicking in Division I. You still have to put the ball through the uprights. Kristov has a…

After setting a school record for the largest margin of victory over an opponent, Jason Burton’s squad pushed their overall record to 4-4 and 1-1 in conference play. Here are 5 thoughts on the season so far. The 4 wins have been pretty indicative so far of what this group can do. The closer games…
Coach Carthel, I have to admit I was disappointed when I saw you had taken the job at Stephen F. Austin. However, as someone who bleeds the blue and gold, you have to understand that my hope for you to stay here would be biased, but as the brother of a high school coach, I…
First, I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving with friends and family. The Fall sports season has wrapped up so let’s get to it. First, I wanted to let anyone who is on Facebook (and really, who isn’t?) to know you can keep up with a lot of breaking news information on our official Facebook…
First, I want to say to Tarleton and their fans, congratulations, you guys have a great football team and Todd Whitten has done nothing short of a great job in turning Tarleton State back around to being an elite LSC program. They went from a 6-5 Bowl team to a team that will be playing…
Lions end the season at 10-3. Thanks to the Seniors for a great 4 year ride.
Bring us home, Lucky Lions, Bring us home. We need you more than ever.
The defense has played very well, except for the final 2 drives. The offense has been awful, but it has been amazing to see what happens when you let your QB run, as Tarleton has a lot of offense due to their QB’s legs. Kristov Martinez now has the LSC all time scoring record. Congrats…

The Lions met up again with Tarleton State, and this time the TexAnns were too much for the Lions, winning 3-1 in set matches. With a…
Let’s start with the obvious. The Texas A&M-Commerce defense is what has gotten this team to a 10-2 record this season and a second round in the NCAA Division II playoffs. No other reason. Scott Power has earned every single penny of his contract and then some. The relentless pressure, the outstanding line of scrimmage…
5 Morning After thoughts, as the Lions advance and head to Stephenville for a rematch with Tarleton State in the NCAA Second Round. Attention University Officials; Stephanie Fiorisi did indeed work today.
