The Morning Wire: December 31

First, I want to wish everyone in Lion Nation a Merry Christmas (belated) and a Happy New Year. Just a heads up, this will be our last post until January 7th, when we go over how the Basketball teams performed against Midwestern State, we also have some track and field news to get to.

Track/Field-The Indoor Season starts for both squads in Lubbock on January 18th at the Texas Tech invitational. Here is the schedule for the Indoor Track Teams-

January 18-Red Raider Invitational, Texas Tech Sports Performance Center, Lubbock, TX

January 26-Pittsburg State Invitational, Robert Plaster Center, Pittsburg, KS

February 1-Texas Tech Open, Texas Tech Sports Performance Center, Lubbock, TX

February 8-Indoor Gorilla Classic, Robert Plaster Center, Pittsburg, KS

February 16-Lone Star Conference Championships, Texas Tech Sports Performance Center, Lubbock, TX

March 8-NCAA Division II Indoor Track Championships, Robert Plaster Center, Pittsburg, KS

Women’s Basketball-

The Women’s Basketball team set many offensive records in a 128-33 win over Dallas Christian College. 8 Different Lions scored in double figures. It was a much needed win as they face off against a 3-6 Midwestern State team in Wichita Falls.

Men’s Basketball-

The Lions pushed their record to 10-2 overall before a tilt with Midwestern on the 3rd of January. An 83-65 Win over Texas A&M-International was once again a much needed win to start off the new year with. The Lions face a 4-8 MSU Squad to start the LSC Conference stretch.
