Softball-
The Lion softball squad has rolled to an impressive 5-0 start as they defeated St. Mary’s 2-1, 20th ranked Arkansas Tech 8-4, Washburn 9-6, defeated Central Oklahoma 10-0 in 5 innings, and Colorado Mines 9-1. The Lions finish up their trip on Monday with a tilt against 25th ranked Augustana before heading down to Austin this Friday at the St. Mary’s Invitational. The Lions are ranked 9th heading into this week and look like serious contenders already.
Women’s Hoops
Jason Burton’s squad dropped an 84-70 decision to # 20 Angelo State Saturday. The Lions kept it razor thin until the Rambelles outscored the Lions by 11 in the final 10 minutes of the first half. The Women tried to furiously keep up with ASU, but the hole proved itself too deep. The Lions face Cameron Thursday night in Commerce for Greek Night and then the annual Fill the Fieldhouse game against Midwestern is on Saturday night.

Men’s Hoops-
The Lion’s Mens team could not erase a horrific first half deficit of 20 points despite solid play in the second half, as they dropped their third LSC game of the season. ASU’s Rams ran out to a 39-19 halftime lead. The Lions charged back to outscore ASU 48-42, but cold shooting in the first half and costly turnovers cost the Lions this one. They have Cameron Thursday night and Midwestern State Saturday night at the Fill The Fieldhouse Game, hopefully to get back into top LSC status.

Track and Field-
The Lion track teams took a trip back to the South Plains to Compete at the Texas Tech Open. Once again, records were set and broken, both school and conference, and this really looks like a strong outdoor season is going to be here, and we are not just talking Conference Championships, but NATIONAL championships.
