Greetings, Lion fans, this might sound like a broken record, but here we are on the eve of another one of those “biggest game of the season” times again. The #7 ranked Lions take on the #16 ranked and undefeated Tarleton State Texans in a battle for the lead in the Lone Star Conference race.…
Finally we got a break. Weather pushes the second half to Denton and we finally tamed the Mustangs. This team has given Coach Carthel more fits than any other opponent. No time to waste though as TSU is coming to town. Bounds provides the final thought once again. Let’s get to it. First thought…MSU is…
Greetings Lion fans, after one of the strangest weekends ever in college football, involving two stadiums and two days with many a mile traveled, we’re back at it with another huge Lone Star Conference game. This week the #16 ranked and 5-0 Tarleton State Texans come to The Hawk with sole leadership of the conference…
The last 36 or so hours have been very……interesting to say the least. I am wiped out both mentally and physically, but here we go. Left DFW around 1 PM yesterday and got to Wichita Falls right at 3. It was a nice and very pleasant drive across the region, an area I do not…
Yes. Sir. Revenge is Sweet. 5 Thoughts later today.
Admission is free, and the game will resume where it was left off, which was at halftime. I will be at the game, stay tuned for the end of the third quarter post and the final game post along with the 5 post game thoughts as well.
Stay tuned for the time the game that will resume tomorrow. The score at the half of 10-10 was the same when the game was halted.
Its been a dog fight, and this one will go down to the wire.
A heavyweight fight this is.

Greetings, Lion fans, and welcome to the Blue Gang Notebook. Formerly known as Getting Defensive, we here at The Wire were looking for something more fitting to the defensive preview. For as long as I’ve been involved with ETSU/A&M-Commerce, I’ve always known the Lion defensive unit as the Blue Gang. Without a doubt, there have…
As everyone knows, it is time for our annually ranked slugfest with the hated Mustangs of Midwestern State. This game became bigger than big after the Lions loss to Colorado State-Pueblo 2 weeks ago, but a game on the road where the Lions face a top 5 team that they have beaten only once in…
Greetings, Lion fans, it’s the week we’ve been waiting for. The biggest game of the season so far. A battle for Lone Star supremacy against the Lion’s most bitter rival, the much despised Mustangs of Midwestern State. Midwestern dealt the Lions their only loss last year en route to the title. Let’s take a look…
Well finally we got to see what we been waiting on all season. Great football weather and some great Lions football to go with it. There won’t be a final thought from Bobby Bounds this week. Please join me and the Wire staff in sending him and his family in Mississippi condolences for the loss…
5 Thoughts on a much needed dominating win. Kane Wilson is your new starting quarterback. For those who wondered why this guy was not the starter from day one, the staff had decided to go with Preston Wheeler because Wilson had the potential to make risky throws, and the offensive staff for this team stresses…
I will have the 5 Morning After Thoughts tomorrow, but Kane Wilson got his first start and looked every bit the part we had been hoping for, and the defense was great. Tune in tommorrow for the Morning After Thoughts.
Kane Wilson started this game and is absolutely lighting it up. The offense is going for the throat as far as play calling, and Wilson has already passed for more yards in this quarter than they did last week during the entire game. 1 passing TD and one rushing TD. He has also been quick on…
This will be a test to see how the Lions respond to adversity. This team had not lost a game at home in almost 2 years, and had a 13 game winning streak. These type of games are what can rebuild your confidence or keep you at the status quo. This has happened before, but…
Greetings, Lion Fans…..my apologies for the delay in getting this week’s installment of Getting Defensive on The Wire, but here we go: OVERVIEW-As much as has been written on the struggles of the Lion offense, the defense has been a true bright spot. After an opener with a high-powered A&M-Kingsville offense, the Lions have clamped…
What a week! Glad it’s over for sure. Once again, Bobby brings the heat with the final thoughts. First thought…Did we overestimate how good we are? I feel like we are better than what we have showed so far. I keep waiting for a break thru…and I guess I’m a sucker because I still think…
