- Ozlo Rigby-He hit the game winner that got that nasty taste out of the mouth of losing last season down in The Valley, and it was a big. He is one of the best kickers in the FCS. No question.
- Ben Mehan-Punted for 40 yards an attempt and did his absolute best to give Rigby a great hold on the game winner.
- Luke Glass-True Freshman Quarterback comes out and leads a Lion offense that needed a spark and he gave that them. Played fearlessly and that final drive to set up Rigby was all guts and smarts.
- Major McBride-The guy continues to prove Russell McLean right. Russ is smiling in Heaven seeing his prediction about how he had the potential to be the next great Lion running back coming true.
- Quay Middlebrooks-Before He left the game had some explosive runs and averaged 4 yards per carry. Hopefully it was not injury related
- Sean Sallis-played multiple sets tonight be had two jobs….block for the freshman Glass and be a safety blanket for him. He did both.
- Orion Kupu-5 Tackles and 5 pass breakups. He was terrific.
- David Spruiells-10 tackles and led the defense in putting pressure on the UTRGV backfield.
- The Entire defensive line-Held The Vaquero’s punishing running game to 72 yards.
- Eric Rodriguez-Managed the offense well until leaving the game due to injury. Hope he gets better quickly.
