Storylines: In the past 5 seasons, Texas A&M-Commerce has not been an underdog in basically any regular season game. They certainly have not been underdogs to Tarleton. Things have changed as Tarleton has shot their way back up to the upper tier of the LSC, winning the Lone Star Conference last year and holding off a late Lion rally in the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs last season.

This game is huge. If the Lions win, they control their own destiny and no doubt get into the playoffs as conference champions. If they lose, it could be just enough to knock the Lions out of playoff contention as that would give the Lions two in-region losses. Now last season, the Lions had two losses, but with having an extra Division II win helped get the Lions a 6th seed in the playoffs. The Lions have to win this game, and it hinges on a road game, a rivalry, a trophy game, and the last game against a team that has been a rival for the better part of 30 years. TSU is headed to Division I as they have been pining for years for, but this game is the final hurrah in a great rivalry series. So much to gain by winning and yet so much to lose not winning. This one is about 3 P’s……President’s Cup, Playoffs, and most importantly, PRIDE.

To the Fans: Get your rears to Stephenville and support this team. They will need us as they go to battle.
