Just got back from the Comerica Center in Frisco, the Lion Women put together a well played and hard fought game to weather a late Eastern New Mexico rally to take down the Zias 77-70. This win was huge as the Lion Women were holding onto the 8th seed in the South Central Region, and they just defeated the 6th seed. The Lions will face West Texas A&M Saturday Night at 8:30 in the LSC Semifinals. While the Women took a huge leap in securing a spot for the National Tournament, a win over West Texas would do wonders for them and would face a much easier team in a potential LSC finals rematch.
Men-
After a back and forth affair with Texas-Permian Basin, the Lion Men used a late fourth quarter surge to move to the LSC Men’s Semifinals by taking out the Falcons 90-80. They face a tough test as Angelo State, a team they split the season series with, is the team that awaits them for at high noon in Frisco. More than likely, the Lions would face West Texas A&M in the finals should they advance.
