Storylines: After Tarleton State won a last second slugfest, it bumped the Lions up to sixth in the region. With Two weeks left, a lot can happen, but this is one of those games that serves two purposes, first, it makes a statement with a big win as UTPB is more competitive than they have been in the past couple of seasons, but are still building their program. That being said, going on the road and winning convincingly will be helpful to the national and regional rankings, as other schools in the region have to play other games and the chances of moving up to as high as perhaps the fourth seed, which would mean the Lions would host a playoff game. If the defense continues to play well (which I believe will happen tomorrow evening), and the offense can have a confidence boosting game, critical as they head into the regular season finale against a tough Angelo State team next week.
