Storylines: For those who are wondering why the game was moved up, it is pretty simple. A pretty nasty storm front is moving in from the northwest and Commerce will be right in it’s path. It probably won’t exactly be totally tranquil beforehand either, but this had to be done to make sure that the game would be not cancelled or postponed. If the game was cancelled that would spell doom for any decent seeding in the regional rankings. The first set comes out on Sunday, and this is a simple, the Lions need a win and a convincing one. At this point, it becomes about beating teams that have played MSU by more than MSU has. If the offense plays as well as it did last week and the defense has gotten it’s mojo back, this should be a solid win.
Angelo will be no pushover. They beat Kingsville soundly and gave MSU an all around tougher game than we did. Very important to start fast and put it away. A win would give Colby Carthel his 40th career victory as Lion head coach, and I am sure to do so against his alma mater would be special to him.
MSU Watch: Midwestern hosts West Texas A&M for their homecoming. Kickoff is at 5 PM, so if anyone cares to watch and listen to the incessant blabbering of the MSU radio guys, you will be able to via their web stream. I will be watching and providing updates on the Lion Football page, with the mute button on.
