Storylines:
Lion Football fans have been waiting a long time to get back to Memorial Stadium, and this game can be for one of two things, either it is a blowout where we see the Lion Offense get back to it’s high scoring ways heading into a big conference opener against Eastern New Mexico, or we see a team that overlooks William Jewell and plays lackluster. This is the kind of game that truly looks at a team’s character and fortitude. The Lions are ranked # 3 in the country, they have not been ranked this high in 29 years. The coming weeks will determine if that ranking is justified or not. Here are some things I am pondering.
- Will the Luis Perez led offense rebound and put major points and yards?
- Is the defense every bit as good as they played?
- Will we see the same total team effort we saw last Friday?
- Will the new skill position players step up and make routine plays to get over the hill?
- Who will distance themselves from the pack as the new starting running back?
