After getting back into the win column, the Lions stay on the road and head to LeGrande Stadium in San Angelo for another match-up with the Rams. ASU has not had the best season, but they gave Midwestern a good game at 28-21. The Lions are still # 9 in the country and MSU has stayed at 4. This game will still be a challenge but a solid victory could bring the Lions back up to near the top 5.
The Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships are back in Commerce, as they will be held this Saturday at Centennial Park in Commerce. First time in years the XC title is being held in Commerce. The Men have a good shot to bring the first conference title in years, and the Women could make a top 3 finish and I expect them to. Go on out to Commerce and root on the team, should be a great day, I could very well be out there time permitting.
The Ladies split a set of Matches at the University Fieldhouse by beating UT-Permian basin in 4 sets and notching a very important conference victory, but lost to Arkansas-Fort Smith the next set. The loss to AFSU does not hurt nearly as bad due to the conference win, which is big. HC Craig Case’s teams are back in action Tuesday as they face Midwestern in Wichita Falls and host Tarleton State Friday Night in Commerce.
Neil Piper’s crew notched another huge victory over Midwestern State 1-0 in a defensive struggle. 10-3-0 is the record now for the Ladies and the defensive play continues to impress. They should be moving up the ranks in short order, Kasey Sorbers, the Freshman from nearby Rowlett put it in the back of the net in the 17th minute and that was all that was needed. The Ladies face Dallas Baptist in Dallas Monday night and head out to the South Plains to face West Texas A&M Friday Night.
