New AFCA polls came out and the Lions stay at number 6 despite a tough and crazy win Saturday night. Really, I did not expect nor did I believe we should move up. This weeks upcoming matchup with Oklahoma Panhandle State will tell how well they have progressed with the penalties and sloppy play. More later on in the week about this.
Soccer-
The Ladies continue their fine season as they pushed their record to 5-2 and 2-0 in LSC play, all while moving up to # 15 in the country behind a big win over West Texas A&M this afternoon, making up for the rain delay of yesterday. Savannah Grasser found the back of the net twice in the second half to put the Lions over the Buffs. Neil Piper’s group continue to look very good in this season. The Ladies travel to Denton Wednesday for a tilt with Texas Woman’s.
Volleyball
The Lion Volleyball team is now 2 games over .500 with an 8-6 record as Craig Case and his crew took down St. Edwards Saturday night in Commerce. The Ladies notched two conference victories in dominating fashion over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas Women’s. The Ladies welcome the Cameron Lady Aggies to Commerce Friday night for a 6 PM tilt and then host Midwestern State the day after.
The Cross Country teams are now preparing to head to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Chilifest this Saturday. A good measuring stick meet as there will be a lot of SEC Division I schools as well as GAC and GSC schools to run against. The meet kicks off at 9:45 AM at Agri Park in Fayetteville.
