Both Men’s and Women’s Golf had a rough final day out in Arkansas, with the Lady Lions dropping from second to fifth, and the Men moving up from 8th to take 4th place. Chantry McMahan finished 4th in the overall individual standings, and CJ Clem finished in the top 10 for the Men’s team.
Track and Field-
Congrats to Lion Tracksters Ahkeel Guy, John David Rollins, James Lundy, Dorian McCradic, Luis Romero, Anthony Harris, Dexter Lee, Adam Gary, and newcomer from Germany Hendrik Nungess. All of these guys qualified for the Texas Relays to be held down at UT-Austin. The Texas Relays are perhaps the coolest set of Relays for any College or High School track fan, and it is an honor to be invited for any athlete. The Men’s team also moved up 4 spots to crack the top ten in the nation.
Just a few snippets about the Fieldhouse and also the Cain Sports Complex, which is where the Lions will play their first softball Season from all indications. The Fieldhouse will have the new floor laid in by the time the next classes graduate, what it will look like, I have no idea but I am curious as to see what it will look like when through. I will expect something innovative. The Softball Field at the Cain Complex, which housed the Club Softball team for years, has really been improved and looks great. A lot of smaller colleges would love to have what facilities we have currently, but with a new field coming for sure, I am happy to see that athletic department is doing what is can in the interim to attract new recruits.
Former Lion Punter Cameron Frosch will be punting the second weekend of the April at an NFL Super Regional Combine. Send good thoughts his way as he is preparing to hopefully get on with an NFL team.
