I have not quite finished up my thoughts for the spring game and grades for the units, so that will be tomorrow, but there is plenty more going on and other news that has been made, so let us get right to it.
A lot to cover here. There will be a pre-game social at Kelly’s At the Village, directly located across the way from the Allen Special Events center Thursday night from 5:30-7:30. HC Sam Walker will be speaking at the engagement and some light food and drinks will be provided. I have an excuse to go so I look forward to meeting some of you there. The Lions will tip off at 8:30 against Eastern New Mexico. A berth to the NCAA Division II tournament is on the line.
The Lady Lions take on Tarleton State at Noon tomorrow in Allen in the first round of the LSC tournament. The ladies defeated TSU to end the season this past Saturday so this will be an interesting matchup for sure.
Congrats are in order to Lady Lion Breanna Harris for picking up Conference Offensive player of the week. The Mansfield, Texas native was huge in late season wins against Texas Women’s University and Tarleton State University. She will need to be big again for the ladies to get back to the LSC Semifinals again.
Also, LaDon Carnegie was tabbed as Conference player of the week for Men’s Basketball for pumping in 34 against the number 2 team in the nation Saturday. Congrats to both Lion Hoopsters on their awards!
Crawford-Wade Invitational has been changed to just one round of 18 holes due to the unpleasant weather and set to start this morning. Will post results as they become available.
Track & Field-
Congrats to both squads on top 5 team finishes at the Conference Indoor Championships at Texas Tech on Saturday. The Men finished 3rd, and the women 5th. West Texas A&M took first in both Men’s and Women’s divisions. The Indoor season is now over and The Lions will now turn to the first meet of the outdoor season this week at the Tarleton State Invitational on Thursday March 6. The NCAA Indoor National Championships will be held on March 14 and 15 in Winston-Salem, N.C. for those who qualified.

As I Said Spring game report cards coming tomorrow and also will post golf scores as they become available from the CW Invitational in Pottsboro.
One final thing, I do not care to bring politics into this blog, but please go vote. Sunday I saw a statistic that said that something like 41 % of Americans will vote today, compared to almost 85 % of the people of France that will vote. Please go exercise your right that millions paid their lives for, regardless of how you vote. End of politics rant.
