A couple of things.
You’ve mentioned on the last 2 podcasts that Lamar U. just recently reinstated football. Actually, the program restarted in 2010.
You also have expressed amazement that LU football has improved so rapidly. Look at the coaches. Prior to 2023 season ET hired a semipro coach with no experience coaching or recruiting at the college level. At the same time, LU selected a coach with solid credentials–several D2 and FCS playoffs as a head coach, National D2 coach of the year in 2012, several years as an assistant at Rutgers and Vanderbilt, and much experience teaching fundamentals and self-discipline to 19 year-olds.

If LU wins Saturday I’ll expand this commentary.
They did almost shut down the program in 2023, but decided to keep the program. You are right about their discipline, they are always displined.
