Per Lionathletics.com, the Lions will begin their 2018 season on a Thursday night (as I was hoping they would) at home against Texas A&M-Kingsville on August 30th. The Lions will go for 7 straight against the Hoggies. Also, an 11th game has been added, as Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania will come visit the Blackland Prairies on September 29th for the hall of fame game.
This is a great thing for multiplicity of reasons. We need as many Division II opponents as possible to build a strong playoff resume. Having wins inside of Division II with a strong record in theory gets us home field in the Playoffs. Win-Win situation here and props to Tim McMurray and the entire athletic program on what they continue to do.
