Storylines: It has been a long time since the TAMUC Lions opened on the road, and it has been a long time since they have opened up against such a high caliber opponent. This game is huge right out of the gate. Few people are picking TAMUC to win this one due to being on the road and UNA having come one game away from winning the National Title. A loss would be tough to swallow as they have been so rare in the Carthel era, and a win would be enormous going into the home opener next week and really show how good this team really is, and if they are really national title material. Also, with the arrival of an All Big 12 performer, will he be the big game changer? Will playing on this big stage and winning give the Lions all the confidence they need to win out? They have some big games on the road in Kingsville, Wichita Falls, and Stephenville later in the season.
