Storylines:
The past 5 matches between Angelo State have been knock down, drag out fights, and there is a lot of acrimony between the two programs. Additionally we have a HC who is playing against his alma mater who probably at some point thought he would be coaching in some capacity, and a team that we have lost some critical games against. Our loss against the Rams in 2013 knocked us out of playoff contention, and it also did when we had to play them in the LSC playoff championship for a second time, which is all that counted that year and sent us to Copperas Cove in the HOT Bowl rather than the NCAA first round of the playoffs. Last season we went 2 for 2 against them, but we beat them by a total of 4 points in those two games. Just glad this one is one and done.
If the Lions can go into San Angelo and issue a severe butt kicking, you will see them move back up into the polls towards the top 5 and also head into the WT game with a TON of confidence. That being said, if WT knocks off MSU this weekend, next Saturday will be bigger than two weeks could even THINK about being.
