Not a whole lot going on athletics wise. If you are in the Commerce area, I would suggest that one might visit the softball team’s practices and open tryouts to get a look at what next year will look like. I was told the practices are open, so with how nice it is supposed to…
Spring Sports- Both Men’s and Women’s Golf had a rough final day out in Arkansas, with the Lady Lions dropping from second to fifth, and the Men moving up from 8th to take 4th place. Chantry McMahan finished 4th in the overall individual standings, and CJ Clem finished in the top 10 for the Men’s…
My apologies for the delay in getting some information up lately. As many of you know, I worked in Consumer Banking from 2008 to January of this past year. I finally decided that I wanted out of that industry and after my MBA was awarded to me, I was offered a job in Southern California…

So, I found a really cool thing for us to look forward to, the University Master plan that should be in place by the year 2025. Here it is below. http://www.gff.com/projects/texas-am-university-commerce-campus-master-plan/ You…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all of my fellow Irishmen and Ulster Scots out there. Proud of my Scotch-Irish Heritage, that unlike so many others, I actually do have. My paternal side is Celt-Gaelic on my Grandfather’s side, and my Grandmother’s side is Ulster Scot, which are basically people of Scottish Ethnicity living in…
Slow news week overall, as evidenced by the entire week’s worth of posts. Monday I will start a capsule on two different subjects, one will be match-up capsules regarding our 10 opponents next year, and the other will be a “State of Program” analysis of the different sports programs that we have and provide some…
It has been a relatively slow news day the past couple of days, and tomorrow I will have some bits and pieces that I will post on the Saturday Roar. Today, I found another newspeice from yesteryear, courtesy of Sports Illustrated circa Fall 1964. For your enjoyment- Ring That Bell -09/21/64 THE TRADITION The road…
A lot of stuff to report on today regarding the Lions and Lady Lions, so let’s get to it. Golf- Congrats to Chantry McMahan for her second place individual finish in the Lion Invitational in Pottsboro. She scored a 75 on the final day and total score of 157 to take the second place. The…

First, congratulations to HC Same Walker and Seniors DeVondrick Walker, Daniel Ehambe, Tyrie Wooten, Kameron Price, and Donavon Gage on their careers as Lions, but before I sound too fatalistic, we will most likely see these guys at least one more in the NCAA Division II Tournament, just due to Strength of Schedule with quality…
Last night was a fantastic night for the Lion Basketball team. First, for those of you who I met and paid me compliments on this site, your words mean the world to me. It gives me reason and drive to continue doing what I do for this University…
I will say this is a little bit of a surprise, to me at least. I saw Anderson at the Game last night rooting on the Men’s team, but I had no idea she was going to do something like this, I really dont know what to say, other than I am taken aback by…
What a huge win. The Lions started the game out strong and then ran into road blocks and awful officiating, but pulled off a huge win against Eastern New Mexico 74-73 . Whew what a game. Watched the first half live and then listened to most of the second half on the radio heading home.…
Women Fall To TSU in LSC Quarterfinals. This is not the way the season should have ended for the TAMUC Lady Lions, but considering all things, and the late season stretch and knocking off TSU in the last home game, things could have been different. What happened last Saturday just had the script flipped and…
Getting right to it…. Overall-The spring game was overall very much a success and a good indicator of where this group is as a team and the strides that have been made in just one calender year. It is truly amazing to see this. In the prior games, we saw either defense dominate, or the…
I have not quite finished up my thoughts for the spring game and grades for the units, so that will be tomorrow, but there is plenty more going on and other news that has been made, so let us get right to it. Lion Hoops- A lot to cover here. There will be a pre-game…
