A lot to get to as always, so let’s go. After the 8-7 win over North Alabama on Friday, The Lions moved up to # 3 in the nation, the highest ranking the Lions have enjoyed since they were # 2 during the 1988 season. The win was the biggest in the Carthel era and…
# 5 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions-8, # 6 North Alabama Lions-7-Post Mortem
Talk about a surreal night. Last night was pretty tough to grade this game but I have more than enough material to do so. The game kicked off about the time I was leaving DFW and going to East Texas for the weekend. Watching a high school game in Van (near Tyler) I was kept…
Final: # 5 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions-8, # 6 North Alabama Lions 7
What. A. Game. I have never seen a sloppier, More mistake filled, lousy game. And I have NEVER been prouder to be a Texas A&M-Commerce Lion fan. This game was very tough to win. It was on the road against a team that expects to win and was playing in the national title last year.…
Halftime: North Alabama 7, Texas A&M-Commerce 0
Few Thoughts: The Lion Defense is playing fantastic. The offense is being doomed by poor execution and lackluster play calling. First down and long draw plays? Let Luis Perez and this vaunted passing attack win this one and use the pass to set up the run. The calls made by the officials, are going against…

OK, so this how it is going to be. I did not plan on a record breaking hurricane cutting it’s way through the Southern US so I made plans Friday night. I will be in Van, TX watching the Vandals (my Dad’s High School Alma Mater) take on defending Class AAA DI Champion Mineola in…

Pre-Snap Read: LSC adding 8 schools in 2019, will be largest NCAA Division II Conference.
News Broke that The Lone Star Conference will be adding 8 teams to the league, making it a 19 member institution. The additions were some good schools and that is good news for sure, the not so good news is that none of them are schools that have football or will be starting programs anytime…
Ask The Opponent: North Alabama Lions Edition
Last season I introduced the concept of “Ask The Opponent”, a post in which I contacted a fan on d2messageboard.com to ask them questions about the upcoming matchup against TAMUC. A big hat tip to Lions96 from the message board who got me the answer to the questions I had. Here is the first edition…
Getting Defensive: Defending North Alabama
Youth. Ahh, Youth. A great thing to have in life. In Football, not so much. UNA has a ton of youth, some of it experienced and some it inexperienced, but youth non the less. It does not end on the defensive side of the ball for UNA, they have it on offense as well. They…
Speaking Offensively: TAMUC Offense Vs. UNA Defense.
Initial Thoughts: My first thoughts on this matchup is how much I like our chances in this. We return 6 offensive starters and an All-American QB leading the group against a defense that was completely decimated by graduation last season, but returns just enough good players to make you be cautiously optimistic. Big thing here…
Breaking: Former Baylor Standout Travon Blanchard Joining Lions, will suit up for game vs. North Alabama.
