Storylines-
After an encourarging win last week, it is now week 2 of the season that has only 7 games left starting tommorrow and you start to feel the pressure and the necessity of a win every single time. The Lions can only afford to lose one more game and still be in the thick of the Southland Conference standings and acheieve that ever elusive winning record, that would be their first since 2021 which almost seems like a lifetime ago. Lamar won on a last second field goal last year right after GS had taken a 1 point lead and looked like they would pull of the win. If the Lion offense can duplicate the success of the past 3 games and stay healthy on defense, a win is not impossible. Lamar has a very simple plan of attack, keep it balanced on offense and play with a disciplined defense. What Lamar does is not anything flashy or complicated, their discipline is their greatest asset and if the Lions want to move to 2-0 and keep the dream of a winning season alive, and maybe more, it is the same thing as last week. One play at a time, one posession at a time, one quarter at a time, one game at a time.
