Storylines: This is where the season truly begins. The Lions could very well be sitting at 2-2 entering this game, but once again, mistakes and lack of discipline have put them behind the proverbial 8 ball, despite the effort that has always been there. The Lions have a very winnable game to play and with 8 games left, this is game 1 to see if the Lions coaches will be able to keep their jobs and compete in the Southland Conference. Like I said, the Lions have a very small room amount of error as to me in order for HC Dolezel and his crew to stay for a fourth season, they need to win 7 of the last 8, which would put them in not only SLC championship contention, but also possible conention for the FCS playoffs, both would be a miracle at this point. Dolezel said in his post game presser last week the defense will get back 7 starters which will help the cause, and the Lion offense has continued to improve week after week. They are sitting right at the top half of FCS offense which given how badly they started the season is a miracle in itself and we will see how much of an improvement they continue to make. From this point forward it is one play at a time, one quarter at a time, one game at a time and well see where we land in November.
