Storylines: After last week’s gutsy and emboldening win over Stephen F Austin, the Lions christened their new identity in the form of a University Name Change that charged the fan base as well as the players. The Lion defense played one of their finest games maybe in the past 2 decades, and the offense did just enough to win. That to say, a Houston Christian team comes into town with a 4-6 record with wins over McNeese, Nicholls, Indiana State, and Louisiana Christian. If one was to look at the comparable mutual opponents, one would project correctly that the Lions could very well win this game and have shown improvement from last year’s disastrous season to this one, but so much of it depends on which Lion team shows up. If it is the disciplined team that we saw play last week that lets Ron Peace use his legs and his arm to move the offense and a defense that absolutely takes no prisoners, the Lions have a good reason to believe they will win at the final gun on Saturday. If it is the alternative, which is sloppy and undisciplined, get ready for a rough game that will be in reach but not show a favorable result. Who wins tomorrow? That all depends on which Lion team shows up.
