Storylines: After losing a heartbreaking homecoming game last week, the Lions head down to East Central Texas to take on another historic HBCU out of the SWAC conference. Prairie View does not have the tradition that Grambling does, but they did schedule this game as their homecoming, which means they believe that a large crowd of former students and alums will return and watch their team defeat the Lions. However, the Lions look to be the favorites in this one just based on mutual opponents. For Clint Dolezel and his squad, it is a chance to double last year’s win total and get back into the win column, but also looking at the rest of the season, the Lions do have a chance to win out and while that idea might be laugable at this point, there is a reason to believe if you take each game one by one. Every game that the Lions lost last year has show improvement, and three teams that hammered the Lions last year were all games the Lions could have and should have won (UC-Davis, Southeastern LA, Lamar). Progress is being made, how fast it is being made is the test of patience, but one thing is for sure, this team is only as good as the offense goes. If they are in high gear, they can hang with anyone, if they are slow to start, its a tough go. The offense needs to learn to attack from the word go and I believe you will see a different set of results going forward, starting tomorrow against the Panthers of Prairie View A&M.
