Impact Players-
QB Josh Magana-According to the depth chart, Magana will get his first start. He will get his first chance to really run the offense and this is his shot. If he rises to the occasion, the Lion offense could really have a breakout game.
RB Reggie Branch-He keeps bringing his game, and we have found our feature back.
WR Keith Miller-Miller came up big after missing the Sac State game, and now its time for him to spark the Lion passing game by having a big game blocking and catching passes.
DB Kendall Paul-After tweaking his hamstring, He looks to be good to go after a great game last week.
DB Max Epps-If he continues his top notch play, it will be a tough road to go on for SFA.
Storylines-For the first time in program history, the Lions will face a former head coach. Colby Carthel is one of the greatest Lion coaches in program history with a 59-18 record over 6 seasons with 3 LSC Championships, 6 postseason appearances, and a National Championship. Carthel took the success he had in Commerce and moved to SFA where he has had mixed success, but he is absolutely not to be taken lightly. This is about the most evenly matched opponent we have faced all year and after thinking for the first 3 weeks we would not even have 2-3 wins the entire year, we now are looking at having more potential for success based on the oh so close loss to an FBS program. If the offense can just muster 17-24 points and the defense play the way they did last week, this is our best chance to put a “W” on the record board before Southland play starts.
