Storylines: History will be made Saturday as the Lions face their first opponent in the FBS era. This is what they would call a “money game” as I said on the podcast on Wednesday. I had said 500k, but actually was told 300k would be the payout. It has been a tough two weeks, but like we said on the podcast, at this point what we are looking for is improvement, especially on offense. Weather will certainly be a factor as Tropical Storm Ophelia is bringing in an immense amount of wind and rain but it seems like they will still play the game. If the weather is going to be a factor, we have to run the ball and hold onto it. The weather might be a great equalizer in keeping ODU’s speed on offense at bay and possibly wearing down ODU’s defense. However, attrition could take it’s toll. I am really pulling for the offense to switch to a ball control offense and see if that Diamond formation can shine the way to offensive success.
