Halftime: Texas A&M-Commerce-14, Winona State-3
Few Quick Thought- 1. Starting well is good, finishing well is what wins games. That has to start now. 2. We cannot continue to drive the field And not get points. We will lose if that happens. 3. Defense had played very well, they have to keep that up. They might win this one for…
End Of The First Quarter- Texas A&M-Commerce-14, Winona State-0
Pre-Game Post
I am heading out to Dallas here shortly to meet up with a lot of the Dallas alums for a watch party at First and Ten in the Lakewood neighborhood in East Dallas. Had a great time there last year and hopefully we go home happy with a win. My Prediction-The Lions win by…

Ask The Opponent: Winona State Edition
On Monday I had a nice chat with a couple of kindred spirits who are Winona State fans. Proving that there is such thing as “Minnesota nice,” I had WSUWarriorFan and McNelly34 from D2Messageboard answer a few questions and I really appreciate it. I also wished to include a little bit of tour guidance from…
The Pre-Snap Read: A deeper look at the Winona State Warriors.
I have probably never researched a team quite like I have Winona State as they are very interesting. Back in 2014, this was a 4-7 team, and now they are a 10-1 team hosting a national playoff game. I had some thoughts last night, so let’s get to a more in-depth analysis. Going back to…
Previewing Winona State: 5 Thoughts
First off, I have to print a retraction. When looking at the regional brackets, I asked if the Lions beat Central Washington, would they get a home game based on their place on the bracket, and not with rankings. I got ahead of myself so I do apologize for that. The only chance of the…
The Lion Wire’s (Very Condensed) Playoff Preview
So, it is finally here. Hard to believe that the regular season just blew by like it did, but it did. The playoff field has been announced, and I have to say that I mostly agree with the field except I do believe that Eastern New Mexico should have gotten in. That being said, let’s…
Final: # 8 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions 33, Tarleton State Texans-21
Five Post Game Quick Thoughts: Props to Tarleton, they played hard and are a solid squad, and more than likely they are going to a Bowl, which they deserve. Fortune Favors the Bold, we were on the ropes and a fantastic play call and execution won the day when we had to have it. The…
Start of the 4th Quarter-Texas A&M-Commerce Lions 23, Tarleton State Texans 7
One more quarter to go. Let’s finish this.
Hafltime: # 8 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions 23, Tarleton State Texans-0
Few quick points: Overall not bad, but we have left 12 points off the board on offense. Cannot settle for Field Goals. The defense is playing outstanding. Very impressed. Special teams are just that. Kristov Martinez is 3 for 3 on FG’s and Tristan Perry has been fantastic on punts. Vincent Hobbs has become more…
End of the First, Texas A&M-Commerce Lions-17, Tarleton State Texans-0
So Far, So Good. The Lions are playing well on all sides of the ball, but the game is far from over. 1 down, 3 to go.
Gameday Thread: Pre-Game
So, I was planning on heading to Stephenville after a good night’s rest, but decided to use the week to just rest. I will be blogging live while watching the game. I will also be watching the Midwestern/Eastern New Mexico Game later tonight. I sincerely wish Coach Kelley Lee and the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds…
# 8 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions VS. Tarleton State Texans-Storylines, Starters, and Stuff You Need To Know
First, I wanted to explain the lack of writing this week. I had planned on doing quite a bit leading up to this game, but I started not feeling well on Monday and felt six degrees south of awful on Tuesday and had to stay at home. Rumor has it a stomach bug is going…
Previewing Tarleton State: 5 Thoughts
The playoffs start this Saturday. This one is pretty simple, beat Tarleton by a convincing margin and more than likely you are in a decent spot in the playoff picture. This is the third time in four seasons what the Lions have their playoff fate decided on the final week of the season. We will…
# 9 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions-52, Texas-Permian Basin Falcons-0-Post Mortem
First the above image is something I have dreamed of seeing for years now, and I want to emphasize how important the naming of the field after Coach Hawkins. First, it was a long overdue honor for the greatest man to ever lead our program. Second, it gives us an identity. No longer do we…
Final-# 9 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions-52, Texas-Permian Basin Falcons-0
Great win on Ernest Hawkins Field. Post Mortem Wrap up in the morning. Everyone enjoy the extra night of sleep tonight.
Halftime: Texas A&M-Commerce-35, Texas-Permian Basin-0
Very impressed, Lions taking care of business on both sides of the ball. The penalties are still an issue but that does not negate how well the Lions have played. In other news: Midwestern escaped with a last second win over Tarleton 45-42. Bummer.
Game Day Open Thread: Vs. Texas-Permian Basin
I have been hard at work all day, putting hours in on a Saturday, so I hate that I will not be able to be in Commerce, but I will be watching and live blogging.
