So, it is finally here. Hard to believe that the regular season just blew by like it did, but it did. The playoff field has been announced, and I have to say that I mostly agree with the field except I do believe that Eastern New Mexico should have gotten in. That being said, let’s…
Five Post Game Quick Thoughts: Props to Tarleton, they played hard and are a solid squad, and more than likely they are going to a Bowl, which they deserve. Fortune Favors the Bold, we were on the ropes and a fantastic play call and execution won the day when we had to have it. The…
One more quarter to go. Let’s finish this.
Few quick points: Overall not bad, but we have left 12 points off the board on offense. Cannot settle for Field Goals. The defense is playing outstanding. Very impressed. Special teams are just that. Kristov Martinez is 3 for 3 on FG’s and Tristan Perry has been fantastic on punts. Vincent Hobbs has become more…
So Far, So Good. The Lions are playing well on all sides of the ball, but the game is far from over. 1 down, 3 to go.
So, I was planning on heading to Stephenville after a good night’s rest, but decided to use the week to just rest. I will be blogging live while watching the game. I will also be watching the Midwestern/Eastern New Mexico Game later tonight. I sincerely wish Coach Kelley Lee and the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds…
First, I wanted to explain the lack of writing this week. I had planned on doing quite a bit leading up to this game, but I started not feeling well on Monday and felt six degrees south of awful on Tuesday and had to stay at home. Rumor has it a stomach bug is going…
The playoffs start this Saturday. This one is pretty simple, beat Tarleton by a convincing margin and more than likely you are in a decent spot in the playoff picture. This is the third time in four seasons what the Lions have their playoff fate decided on the final week of the season. We will…
First the above image is something I have dreamed of seeing for years now, and I want to emphasize how important the naming of the field after Coach Hawkins. First, it was a long overdue honor for the greatest man to ever lead our program. Second, it gives us an identity. No longer do we…
Great win on Ernest Hawkins Field. Post Mortem Wrap up in the morning. Everyone enjoy the extra night of sleep tonight.
Very impressed, Lions taking care of business on both sides of the ball. The penalties are still an issue but that does not negate how well the Lions have played. In other news: Midwestern escaped with a last second win over Tarleton 45-42. Bummer.
I have been hard at work all day, putting hours in on a Saturday, so I hate that I will not be able to be in Commerce, but I will be watching and live blogging.

Had to go a little out of the way to find me a source on UTPB Football, but we found DonJon from Pigskinprep.com who is a graduated of UTPB and lives in Odessa and is an avid Falcon supporter. He was nice enough to sit down and discuss the Falcon program and the upcoming matchup with…
This Saturday when the Lions take the field against Texas-Permian Basin, they will be the first team to run onto Ernest Hawkins Field. For close to a half decade, there has been a serious push to have some kind of honor for Coach Hawkins, the winningest coach in Lion football history. He did many very…
First, lets get to polls. In the AFCA national rankings, the Lions stayed at 9th in the country. In the Region 4 polls, they moved up into a playoff slot with a 7th place ranking. I have a feeling that a lot will change in 2 weeks. Good enough to get to host another playoff…
First and foremost, I want to congratulate Luis Perez who is now the all time leading passer yardage wise in Lion football history. That is a huge accomplishment as the program has had some fantastic passers go through it. It took a long time for someone to break Bob Bounds record. When you think about…
Sloppy and uninspired final quarter, but Lions get the road win against a very much improved Buff team. Luis Perez had a fantastic game and there were some big time highlights. Post Mortem in the morning.
Bring us home Lucky Lions, bring us home.
Luis Perez is playing H-O-T right now. This the best game I have seen him play in his career. Every incomplete pass has been completely the fault of his REC’s. Mistakes have left points off the board and put points on the board for the Buffs but the Lions are getting better as the game…
